Mercury & Argus began as a natural extension of a working photography practice — a way to bring the images made on commercial shoots, personal travels, and quiet early mornings into people's homes as objects worth keeping.
Mercury, the messenger god of movement and light. Argus, the all-seeing giant of a hundred eyes. Between them, the act of photography.
The name draws on Greek mythology and a longstanding interest in the history of art — Mercury as the carrier of images across distances, Argus as the figure defined by his capacity to see. Photography lives somewhere between the two: the disciplined act of looking, and the desire to share what you find.
This is a small, independent store — built slowly and run with care. The collection grows when there are images genuinely worth adding to it.
